Welcome to the most dynamic art-promoting NGO in India: The Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation (PDAF). It is a duly registered charity trust with clearly-stated Income Tax benefits. It was founded in the memory of Prafulla Dahanukar, a renowned eminent artist of India. Prafulla in her six-decade art career found time from her busy art schedule to help talented young artists to transform their careers to become successful.
PDAF conducts the prestigious and the largest art contest in India called Kalanand, which in 2016, gave 495 awards and prizes worth Rs. 1.25 cr to artists from 147 cities in India. The Kalanand contest is a wonderful platform for emerging artists to showcase their work, to get web recognition, and win handsome prizes. These artists get full Sunman at the grand Kalanand functions held in 7 cities, namely Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Pune, Goa, and Mumbai. The award winning artists are privileged to sell their work on the Kalanand Store, a sales portal on our website.
PDAF actively strives to create listeners for Indian Classical music by creating Laghu Raga format audio of 5 minutes duration for the younger generation. The music can be downloaded FREE of cost.
PDAF is associated with Inner Wheel, the largest women’s organization to work for the promotion of art at all levels. Inner Wheel members run the Balanand Events and promote Raganand, the program that is known for playing Indian Classical audio pieces for school children. Local Inner Wheel Districts co-host the Kalanand functions in the 7 cities.
The Kalanand Exhibition in Mumbai offers a free four day Exhibition for the Award winning artists from all parts of India. The Kalanand Store also offers an online outlet for sale for the artworks of the award-winning artists.
Designer Art is another art promotion activity of the PDAF that offers quality art in designed sizes at affordable prices.
